On behalf of the entire management team, and the two of us personally, congratulations on earning your place on the Federal SMP staff team. Out of everyone in this community, you were chosen because we saw something in how you carry yourself — patience, fairness, good judgement, and a genuine care for keeping this server a place people enjoy logging into every day. That is not a small thing, and it is not something we hand out lightly.

This handbook is the same material every member of our team is trained on. It is organized into clear chapters, each covering one part of the job, and each chapter ends with a short question-and-answer review so you can check your own understanding as you go. Read it fully before your first shift. Come back to it whenever you are unsure. Nobody on this team is expected to memorize everything overnight — but everyone is expected to know where to look and to ask before acting when in doubt.

Moderating Federal SMP is a position of trust. Players will look to you to be calm when they are not, fair when a situation is messy, and consistent even when it is inconvenient. You will make mistakes — everyone does — and what matters is how you own them and learn. We are not looking for perfection. We are looking for judgement, honesty, and reliability.
